This Funding Announcement is not a request for applications. This announcement is to provide public notice of the Bureau of Land Management’s intention to fund the following project activities without full and open competition. The Walking Box Ranch project will result in the creation of the Field Research and Training Center, which will include structures and areas required to carry out field research related to the Mojave Desert, as well as a Museum, which will mainly include stabilizing and restoring existing structures. The mission of the FRTC & M will be to educate people on issues related to conservation, sustainability, and stewardship of the natural and cultural resources in the Mojave Desert, and to provide research opportunities that will enhance the understanding, management actions, and decisions in arid environments, particular to the Mojave Desert.
