Description

EPA Region 9’s Pesticide Office is soliciting proposals from Federally-recognized tribes within the Region 9 geographic area who want to work in partnership with at least one other tribe to develop and implement a pesticide program. Participant tribes should develop a proposal that designates a lead tribe and includes a plan to hire, train and manage a Tribal Circuit Rider to maximize coverage in Indian Country. Eligible projects should outline how the Tribal Circuit Rider 1) provides pesticide risk reduction from the use of pesticides in agricultural and nonagricultural settings; 2) encourages pesticide use reduction; 3) supports Integrated Pest Management (IPM) implementation; 4) addresses children's health issues directly or indirectly related to pesticides; and 5) manages impacts to air, water and land from pesticide use.
