Description

This award will support organizations funded under the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Treatment and Modernization Act of 2006 to implement and evaluate focused interventions designed to improve women of color's timely entry into HIV primary care following diagnosis and retain women of color in quality primary HIV care. The focus of this initiative is to identify, evaluate and disseminate successful strategies to recruit and retain HIV positive women of color in primary care. Applicants must propose interventions to address provider-patient communication, patient treatment education, cultural competence, fragmented clinical care, complex and confusing medical procedures and clinical facilities. Applicants will be expected to describe in detail, a plan to compile lessons learned and best practice models that can be shared with Ryan White grantees and other providers to improve access and quality of Ryan White services for women of color. One Evaluation and Technical Assistance Center (ETAC) will be awarded and will be responsible for coordinating and conducting a multi-site analysis, providing clinical expertise, developing guidelines for integrated programs, conducting cost-effectiveness analysis, and dissemination of results.
