CDC’s Procurement and Grants Office has published a funding opportunity announcement entitled, “Influenza and Other Emerging Infectious Diseases in Vietnam (U01).” Approximately $400,000 will be available in fiscal year 2009 to fund one award. The purpose of this FOA is to strengthen the capacity in Vietnam to detect, describe and conduct studies on influenza and emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases of public health importance and to evaluate new diagnostics, vaccines, and other interventions that may offer approaches toward their prevention For complete program details, please see the full announcement on the CDC website at http://www.cdc.gov/od/pgo/funding/FOAs.htm.
