Description

Purpose: The primary purpose of the AHRQ Mentored Clinical Scientist Research Career Development Awards (K08) program is to prepare qualified individuals for careers that have a significant impact on the quality, safety, efficiency, and effectiveness of health care for all Americans. This program represents the continuation of an AHRQ program that provides support and protected time to individuals with a clinical doctoral degree for an intensive, supervised research career development experience in health services research. The award can be used both by individuals who propose to newly embark in heath services research training and those who had a hiatus in their research careers because of illness or family circumstances. The award is also available to promote research workforce diversity by providing enhanced research career development opportunities. Candidates interested in pursuing careers in patient-oriented research are eligible to apply for this award at AHRQ.
