CDC’s Procurement and Grants Office has published a funding opportunity announcement entitled, “Expanding the Overseas Health Assessment and Surveillance of U.S. Bound Refugees”. Approximately $1,000,000 will be available in fiscal year 2009 to fund three awards. The purpose of the program is to assist three grantees, United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), the Association of Medical Doctors of Asia (AMDA), and the Committee for Coordination of Services to Displaced Persons in Thailand (CCSDPT) in implementing activities to strengthen prevention and control efforts for infectious diseases, including vaccine-preventable diseases, in U.S.-bound refugee populations worldwide.For complete program details, please see the full announcement on the CDC website at http://www.grants.gov.
