Mountain Plover Demographic Modeling
ArchivedFish and Wildlife Service
Description
Building on the Service-sponsored Structured Decision Making workshop, this project should refine the preliminary, range-wide demographic model for Mountain Plovers. The model should be expanded to be spatially explicit and have linked population states. Using the Mountain Plover as an example, the project should examine novel ways for modeling migratory connectivity. Parameters in the initial model should be refined by undertaking a thorough review of published and unpublished literature. A more complete set of environmental conditions should be incorporated into the model; these components drive the optimization routines fundamental to Structured Decision Making.
