Description
The BLM and NSM will continue to conduct this joint effort through a cooperative agreement for the curating and care of archaeological and other materials from Federal lands in Nevada, on behalf of BLM and other Federal agencies. The NSM contains many hundreds of cubic feet of stored materials from archaeological sites from BLM lands in Nevada. These are cared for in perpetuity. The NSM is open to the public and these collections are valuable for both the scientific study and public interpretation. The use of these materials for public interpretation through museum display, traveling exhibits, study kits, etc., benefit the public through an increased awareness of the value of cultural resources in Nevada.
