Description

The Indian Health Service (IHS) announces competitive grant applications for the Methamphetamine & Suicide Prevention Initiative (MSPI) for American Indian and Alaska Native (AI/AN) Youth (MSPI-Y). This program is authorized under the Snyder Act, 25 U.S.C. 13, and 25 U.S.C. 1602(a) (b)(9)(11)(12); 25 U.S.C. 1621h(m) of the Indian Health Care Improvement Act (IHCIA), as amended. This program is described at 93.933 in the Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance. The purpose of the MSPI-Y is to expand community-level access to effective methamphetamine and suicide prevention programs through Tribal, youth residential, transitional/discharge, and aftercare services. Resources will enhance existing transitional/discharge and aftercare programs with a specific focus on methamphetamine and suicide prevention.
