ArchivedDepartment of the Interior
Description
This Funding Announcement is not a request for applications. This announcement is to provide public notice of the Bureau of Land Management?s intention to fund the following project activities without full and open competition. The principle purpose of this proposed program is to protect wilderness areas and WSAs by engaging an organization with a large volunteer base that can assist the BLM with wilderness stewardship by helping to monitor and restore these special wild places. The Friends of Nevada Wilderness restoration and monitoring trips combine exploration, camaraderie and rewarding work in Nevada?s beautiful backcountry. Working in partnership with the District, resource data and monitoring information will be shared; wilderness and WSAs that need specific attention on-the-ground will be identified and projects will be planned and carried out.
