Bureau of Reclamation - Great Plains Region

Description

The Bureau of Reclamation (Reclamation) Great Plains Region, Montana Area Office proposes to provide financial assistance to applicant to conduct a special study on the Sun River Watershed. Reclamation’s role in water resource and related investigations is to address issues that can be considered a part of the “National Interest” or for which the Secretary of the Interior has trust asset responsibilities. Water resources investigations and activities are frequently performed in partnership with other federal and non-federal entities. While the development of a watershed plan is a critical step in the process, the plan must be successfully implemented before results can be seen. The watershed management process uses a series of cooperative, iterative steps to characterize existing conditions, identify and prioritize problems, define management objectives, and develop and implement protection or remediation strategies as necessary.
