Description
The purpose of the Patuxent Wildlife Research Center (PWRC) funding opportunity is to study the distribution and spatial ecology of amphibian populations, with particular attention to the potential role of climate change and landscape alternation on distribution and abundance of stream-associated species. Objective is to determine the spatial distribution of amphibians within 3rd- order stream networks and to understand how spatial position influences key demographic processes (i.e. survival, movement). Using occupancy and mark-recapture techniques, and appropriate modeling of these data, and to assess the contribution of network complexity to amphibian persistence.
