BLM-UT-USO-Wetlands - Riparian Documentation in Snake Valley

Archived

Department of the Interior

Description

The is project will Provide BLM and Utah Division of Wildlife Resources with the information necessary to effectively manage aquatic species and wetland - riparian species and communities on the floor of Snake Valley, given ongoing groundwater development and hydrologic change within the valley. Actively promote recovery, maintenance, protection, and enhancement of wetland and riparian habitats of BLM special status animal species to ensure that actions authorized, funded, or carried out do not contribute to the need for these species to be listed as T and E under the ESA. Once this riparian and wetland information is collected mitigation plans can then be developed and implemented, allowing for the protection and improvement of this habitat and the associated species that are dependent upon it. The completion of the project will require a report that will be available to the public, agencies and all interested parties.
