Description

The purpose of this grant is the improvement and the refinement of the rail defect detection prototype developed by the University of California at San Diego under previous FRA R&D grant. Specifically, all the performance issues identified during the prototype¿s field testing at the Transportation Technology Center, Pueblo, CO in July 2009 will be addressed and satisfactorily resolved. In addition, it provides for the testing and the demonstration of this new technology.
