CDC’s Procurement and Grants Office has published a funding opportunity announcement entitled, “Strengthening Global Human-Animal Interface Activities for Avian Influenza and other Zoonotic Diseases (U19)”. Approximately $750,000 will be available in fiscal year 2010 to fund two awards. The purpose of this FOA is to support the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) and the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations, the two most scientifically influential international animal health organizations, to conduct research and activities that will improve and inform international efforts to detect, prevent, control, and respond to infectious disease threats of zoonotic origin.
