Description
This project is funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act to provide economic stimulus funding to create and maintain jobs, stimulate the economy, encourage infrastructure investment, and enhance BLM?s national system of public lands. In addition, the project will protect and stabilize historic and cultural resources associated with this iconic lighthouse and continue to build strong collaborative partnerships at the ONA. The project will provide much needed improvements to safeguard the historic and cultural resources while providing the infrastructure needed to accommodate the increasing numbers of regional, national and international visitors to the site. The project will benefit the visiting public through enhanced facilities, more effective interpretation and increased public safety. It will provide the regional community with long term preservation of the cultural and historic resources at this iconic site.
