Description
The purpose of this announcement is to assist in the strengthening of the coordination role of Cameroon’s National AIDS Control Committee (NACC), with a particular focus on prevention of HIV infection in health-care settings. Specifically, this project aims to:• Build Cameroon’s capacity to ensure a safe blood supply, in line with the WHO Aide Memoire on Blood Safety; • Strengthen laboratory services through implementation of a National Strategic Laboratory Plan (NSLP); • Improve the quality and expand the scale of activities to prevent mother-to-child transmission (PMTCT) of HIV;• Enhance the collection and use of strategic information (SI) for program and policy development through support for surveillance, monitoring and evaluation, and operational research; andReduce the burden of HIV-TB co-infection and medical transmission of HIV through support for universal Infection Prevention and Infection Control (IP/IC) policies and practices.
