The youth will gain technical skills in film recording and editing, and play a vital role in their communities and in the Park. RECIPIENT INVOLVEMENTTIOBEC will recruit and hire Native American youth enrollees to document the traditions and oral histories of Native Americans who have cultural or historical ties to Boston Harbor Islands National Recreation Area. TIOBEC will manage and evaluate the Native American Summer Employment program, provide land transportation on field trips and water transportation to Thompson Island for student enrollees. NATIONAL PARK SERVICE INVOLVEMENTNPS will provide instructors and training materials for environmental awareness, conservation, and NPS policy. NPS will assist with the recruitment of students, evaluate the TIOBEC safety plan, and monitor the program.
