CDC’s Procurement and Grants Office has published a funding opportunity announcement entitled, “Public Health Activities for Refugees in the Republic of Kenya”. Approximately $2,500,000 will be available in fiscal year 2010 to fund one award. The purpose of the program is to assist the grantee, United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in implementing activities to strengthen prevention and control efforts of HIV in refugee populations in the Republic of Kenya, by: 1) implementing HIV prevention, care and treatment programs for refugees; and 2) reduce the morbidity and mortality of refugees and immigrants in Kenya.
