Description
Over the last two years approximately 1200 acres of juniper were felled on Bureau of Land Management (BLM) lands within the Baker Resource Area of the Vale District, Oregon. The felled juniper, considered biomass, must now be removed from the project area in order to reduce fire hazard and to restore sage brush steppe and grassland communities. The removed biomass will be utilized at a local cogeneration plant to produce electricity and preserve current jobs and create new jobs.
