Monitoring Protocols for Horse Trails and River Use Activities at Ozark NSR

Archived

National Park Service

Description

The first phase of this project will be to identify the informal horse trails in the park, document their condition, and then create a trail monitoring protocol. The second phase of this project will be to conduct observational research on use types and use levels on the Jacks Fork and Current Rivers as well as to understand visitors' perceptions of their experience while at Ozark National Scenic Riverways through a visitor survey (pending OMB approval). These protocols will be implemented in the park, as well as serve as guides for monitoring protocols that similar NPS units in the region could adapt and implement.
