Description
The purpose of the program is to plan, coordinate, and facilitate public health activities related to chronic disease prevention and health promotion (focusing on the National Center For Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion’s priority areas and goals), and environmental health areas (focusing on the National Center For Environmental Health’s priority areas and goals). The program includes advancing systems and procedures to assist state health departments, community organizations, and others addressing chronic disease prevention, health promotion, and environmental health to prevent risk factors, reduce chronic health conditions and diseases, address emerging chronic disease and environmental health public health issues, and reduce premature mortality and morbidity.
