Addressing Short-Term Stabilization and Long-Term Development Objectives through Revitalization of Afghan Agriculture

Description
The goal of this activity is to support the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan (GIRoA) and the United States Government (USG) priorities to increase employment and income in the agricultural and livestock sectors. Activities undertaken should reflect an integrated approach to these goals taking advantage of ongoing and past work of other USAID programs in Infrastructure, Agriculture and Economic Growth. Activities should account for, but are not limited to, opportunities such as invigorating agribusiness, enhancing the enabling environment for businesses, improving the profitability of cereal, horticulture, and livestock production, rehabilitating watersheds, improving irrigation systems, improving access to financial services, strengthening trade capacity, and revitalizing research and education.
