Description

The purpose of this program is to support innovative strategies in improving access to care for children and youth with epilepsy through one or two of the following approaches: focusing on Mental Health issues for children and youth with epilepsy; implementing telemedicine/telehealth; implementing a training program aimed at educating providers (PCP, Pediatricians) on epilepsy care, particularly in rural and medically underserved areas; partnering with a Community Health Center/ Federally Qualified Health Center or Rural Health Clinic utilizing a chronic health model; and/or through partnering with a disease-specific organization (autism, cerebral palsy, etc) in addressing issues around co-morbidities in an effort to increase awareness about epilepsy.
