Description
The cemetery preservation bulletin will follow the template of the highly successful Terra Firma series, providing content in an easy-to-read format with illustrative graphics and concrete examples. The bulletin will introduce cemetery preservation concepts in the context of landscape preservation and serve as a gateway to additional resources. Content will include: • National context on programs and trends relating to the preservation of historic cemetery landscapes • Current threats to historic cemeteries • Basic cemetery preservation approach that balances management of the built and vegetative features of cemetery landscape • Case studies that illustrate new trends, common issues, etc. • List of resources DCR has completed seven issues of Terra Firma. The series has been distributed across the nation and overseas. Recipients include state historic preservation offices, state and national parks, non-profits, regional planning offices, and landscape architects.
