U.S. Fish and Wildlife Cooperative Agreement with California Wildlife Foundation
ArchivedFish and Wildlife Service
Description
This is a Notice of Intent by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service) to make an award to the California Wildlife Foundation. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and partners, including the CA Department of Fish and Game (CDFG), are establishing Landscape Conservation Cooperatives (LCCs) to address challenges such as climate change. LCCs are applied conservation partnerships between the Service, CDFG, other government and non-governmental organizations, and other stakeholders within defined geographic areas in California. The objective of this work is to support the coordination between the LCC's and the California wildlife climate adaptation strategy by obtaining the services of a professional consultant to conduct liaison between the Service and CDFG. This agreement will further the goals of the Service and the LCCs by supporting close coordination among climate change adaptation initiatives being planned by the Service, CA LCC, CDFG, and other public and private conservation partners in California. The California Wildlife Foundation (CWF) is uniquely suited to provide the coordination between the Service, LCCs, and CDFG. The CWF is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established specifically to support the CDFG and its partners by accepting funds on behalf of the CDFG, managing contracts to carry out CDFG-approved projects, and facilitating the development of regional land and wildlife management plans.
