Mouse Eradication on the Farallon Island

Archived

Fish and Wildlife Service

Description

This award is anticipated to be a single-source determination because of technical expertise, support capacity and cost-sharing ability provided by Island Conservation. Island Conservation has vast experience and expertise in eradicating introduced mammals from islands in the Pacific Ocean and prior work has been supported by Island Conservation. The agreement provides funding based on anticipated upcoming activities, including completion of a Final Environmental Assessment (EA), development of a communications plan and field trials of a non-toxic mouse bait. Due to the complexity of this project, the Service expects that this project will span multiple years and specific activities will be identified as the project progresses.
