Description
The purpose of the National Institute of Justice Research, Evaluation, and Development Projects Grant program is to encourage and support research, development, and evaluation to improve criminal justice policy and practice in the United States. With this solicitation, NIJ seeks proposals for research and technology development addressing the following topics as described in the “Program-Specific Information” section of this solicitation: 1. Vehicle accident research. 2. Vehicle accident avoidance technology development. Authorizing Legislation: Title I of the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968 (sections 201 and 202); Homeland Security Act of 2002 (section 232).
