Description

Youth gangs continue to have a significant adverse impact on youth, families, and communities across America. A growing number of communities have adopted OJJDP’s Comprehensive Gang Model, a multi-strategy, multidisciplinary approach that has proven to be effective in reducing gang activity. The OJJDP FY 2011 Comprehensive Anti-Gang Strategies and Programs solicitation provides funding for localities to support coordinated federal, state, and local partnerships to implement the following anti-gang programs: primary prevention, secondary prevention, gang intervention, and targeted gang enforcement. This program will be authorized by an act appropriating funds for the Department of Justice.

• Public housing authorities / Indian housing authorities
• Native American tribal organizations (other than Federally recognized)
• Nonprofits with 501(c)(3) status (other than higher education)
• Private institutions of higher education
• For-profit organizations other than small businesses
• Small businesses
