Basic Research Opportunity: “Towards Active Control of Noise from Hot Supersonic Jets”
ArchivedOffice of Naval Research
Description
The Office of Naval Research seeks full proposals aimed at understanding and controlling the development of large-scale flow structures in hot, supersonic, shock-containing jet plumes and their contribution to near-field (within 20 nozzle diameters of the jet axis) and far-field (greater than 100 jet diameters) noise. Research areas of interest include: analytical and computational approaches, correlation between flow interactions and noise radiation, advanced diagnostics and experiments, and advanced noise control design methodologies and devices. **************************************************************************************************Applicants shall NOT apply under this Special Notice. Applicants shall apply using the Application Instructions and Package under ONRBAA11-001 by 25 FEB 2011.
