Supporting the Federal Ministry of Health to Improve HIV/AIDS Services Provision, in Nigeria under the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR)
ArchivedCenters for Disease Control and Prevention
Description
The purpose of this program is to support the Federal Ministry of Health (FMoH) to improve the quality of and access to HIV and HIV-related health services by successfully implementing the National Strategic Health Development Plan. Moreover, this award specifically seeks to assist the FMoH in its leadership in and implementation of related initiatives to decentralize and integrate HIV-related health services with other priority health interventions at the Primary Health Care level. This goal of improving HIV service provision through broader engagement of the overall health sector is supported generally in the principles of the Global Health Initiative and PEPFAR II authorizing legislation and is also a central focus of Nigeria’s NSFII and the recently signed Partnership Framework between the GoN and USG.
