1.The purpose of the National Resource Center for Health and Safety in Child Care Settings (NRC) cooperative agreement is to ensure quality in early care and education settings nationwide. The NRC assist providers who work with children of all abilities to access early care and education resources and reference material, maximize the use of the Standards and utilize technological to reach grantees, regulators, providers and parents. 2.The purpose of the National Training Institute (NTI) for Child Care Health Consultants cooperative agreement is to support the health and safety of children in early care and education through the identification, training and deployment of health and child care professionals to serve as health consultants to child care programs. The NTI supports regional and national training to child care health consultants by providing distant learning capabilities as a means of increasing the number of health consultant trainees representing various early care and education settings including family, military and Head Start. 3. The purpose of the Child Care and Health Partnership Program (CCHPP) is to support a network of health care professionals responsible for strengthening linkages between pediatricians, and child care providers to ensure the provision of safe, healthy and developmentally appropriate early care and education for all children and to use the early care and education settings as a point of access to health insurance and medical homes.
