Purpose of Program: The purpose of the Striving Readers Comprehensive Literacy grant program (SRCL) is to advance literacy skills--including pre-literacy skills, reading, and writing--for students from birth through grade 12, including limited-English-proficient students and students with disabilities. Through this program, the Department will award competitive grants to State educational agencies (SEAs) to support competitive subgrants to local educational agencies (LEAs), including charter schools that are considered LEAs under State law, or other eligible entities for the purpose of advancing literacy skills. Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance (CFDA) Number: 84.371C. Applications for grants under the Striving Readers Comprehensive Literacy Grant program, CFDA number 84.371C, must be submitted electronically using the Governmentwide Grants.gov Apply site at http://www.Grants.gov.
