Description
The purpose of the program is to prevent and control violence and unintentional injuries through activities that promote: the development of indicators and surveillance systems to monitor injuries and violence in low- and middle-income countries; training and education; implementation of and evaluation of comprehensive strategies to prevent and control injuries and violence in low- and middle-income countries; and the dissemination of information, tools, and expertise to prevent and control injuries and violence. This program is international in scope but addresses the “Healthy People 2020” focus area(s) of preventing injury and violence.
