South Africa USAID-Pretoria

Description

This Request for Applications (RFA) is issued in order to continue and expand USAID/Angola Mission’s present efforts in health social marketing. This project will introduce family planning commodities to the Mission’s current social marketing portfolio, while scaling up the existing program, which includes condoms for prevention of HIV/AIDS, long-Lasting insecticide-treated nets (LLINs), artemisinin-based combination therapy (ACT) for malaria treatment, and water purification solution for prevention of water-borne illnesses. The project will increase demand for, access to, and use of these essential health commodities, as well as related services, by targeted populations. In addition, the project will develop and implement programs to increase adoption of, and consistent adherence to, associated healthy behaviors. Social marketing efforts under this award should coordinate with and complement the efforts of the Government of the Republic of Angola (GRA), other donors and partners in the areas of HIV/AIDS, family planning, malaria, and water.
