Air Force -- Research Lab

Description

AFRL Sensors Directorate (AFRL/RY), Directed Energy Directorate (AFRL/RD) and AFOSR seek an applicant to provide a Center of Excellence in the development of laser-based remote sensing and communications for Air Force applications. It is anticipated that the successful bidder will propose tasks in both the basic and applied research domains associated with the broad category of remote sensing and free-space communication beyond the diffraction-limited range of a real optical aperture. Wavelength regimes of interest are those consistent with remote sensing and communications for Air Force applications. It is also anticipated that the successful bidder will have significant experience in education of students in technical areas of interest. The successful bidder will also demonstrate a willingness to make results of research available to the technical community at large through activities such as frequent workshops, publications and presentations at conferences.
