Description
Subject to the availability of funds, USAID/Indonesia is seeking applications from U.S. PVOs and NGOs for a program to ameliorate the food security and poverty problems in selected areas of Papua province in Indonesia. USAID intends to award one Cooperative Agreement as a result of this solicitation. The program PAPUA Agriculture Development Alliance (PADA III) is designed to support USAID/Indonesia's Strategic Objective "Increased Employment" and its Intermediate Result (IR2) "Increased Production of High-Value Crops." The principal objective of PADA III is to ensure food security of the isolated and vulnerable Papuan households through increased production and income from the sale of rice and tuber and root crops, selected high-value crops (coffee, cocoa, bananas and vegetables), fish and pork. In addition, PADA III seeks to improve communication and access to outside world through coordination and leveraging complementary resources from the Government of Indonesia's (GOI) programs in Papua Province. Award will be in effect for an estimated five years with a total funding not to exceed $10million.
