The National Library of Medicine supports research grants that advance the science of biomedical informatics. Informatics is concerned with the optimal organization, management, dissemination and use of information. Biomedical informatics can be defined as the intersection of computer and information sciences with an application domain such as health care, public health, basic biomedical research, or clinical translational research.
