ArchivedOffice of Juvenile Justice Delinquency Prevention
Description
The Defending Childhood Task Force Technical Assistance Project will support an organization and/or a consortium of organizations that will (1) conduct four public Defending Childhood hearings nationwide to raise awareness of the issues surrounding childrens exposure to violence and assist the Attorney Generals National Task Force on Children Exposed to Violence (hereafter, the Task Force) in recommending promising practices to prevent and reduce the effects of childrens exposure to violence, (2) prepare a final report, including information gathered at the hearings and other relevant information, from which the Task Force may draw specific policy recommendations, and (3) provide all necessary support for the Task Force and Defending Childhood hearings, which will drive the work of the Task Force. The project will be administered through a cooperative agreement with the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) in partnership with the Office for Victims of Crime (OVC), the National Institute of Justice, the Community Orientated Policing Services Office, and the Office on Violence Against Women (OVW).
