The synopsis is the full announcement. The tasks to be performed under this agreement are as follows: The recipient, Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks, will complete bear management actions in Montana on grizzly bears, involving outreach and education to the public and capture, relocation and monitoring of grizzly bears as necessary to minimize bear/human conflicts.This Single Source Award is being made in accordance with Department of the Interior Policy 505 DM 2.14 B Unique Qualifications.Montana Department of Fish Wildlife and Parks is the only state agency that has the legal authority to manage grizzly bears in Montana to assist with implementation of the Grizzly Bear Recovery Plan. Montana FWP is the only entity with jurisdiction and authority to manage grizzly bears in Montana and is responsible for responding and managing human/bear conflicts in Montana. No other agency or organization has the legal responsibility, legal authority, management experience, or organizational capacity to capture and handle nuisance grizzly bears. This funding is to assist the Montana Department of Fish Wildlife and Parks in their implementation of grizzly bear recovery efforts.
